The Mythical Man-Month – A timeless classic – reflections continued

I had written a brief post on the seminal “The Mythical Man-Month” some months back. I am currently in between jobs and thought of using this period of lull to do a quick refresh on this timeless classic on project management. I work in an Indian IT services shop so this is purely from my point of view. The thoughts below intend to mesh together the seminal classic’s and my observations over a decade in the IT service sector.

Reflections on ‘The Mythical Man-Month’

Books have been my constant source of enlightenment. A few weeks back I laid my hands on the seminal book of project management “The Mythical Man-Month”. Actually there is another book that I would like to lay my hands on – Peopleware – Productive projects and teams. I could not help but reflect on the fact that opinions expressed some decades ago are still valid in today’s software engineering world.
